Jouture is a journalism platform where journalists can create, disseminate, and monetize their content in addition to allowing the readers to participate in the verification of news.Unlike other media mediums (music, books, movies), the news vertical suffers a lack of journalistic individualism and recognition. Publications overpower journalist identities which results in consumers focusing on the branding of the paper versus the individual journalist. We live in a time where individuality is the focal point of attention - take twitter handles, fb pages, soundcloud profiles; however journalists aren't experiencing the same momentum of brand recognitionWe hope to solve some of these challenges through our platform - Jouture (Journalism Culture or Journalism Couture). It was created to help independent and freelancing journalist create better content by individualizing the journalist.Our aim is to democratize stories and information surrounding current affairs by providing empowering tools and resources for journalists. We see censorship, politics, and the lack of robust monetizing platform decimating the industry with no solution in the horizon. Jouture was born out of necessity for readers and journalists alike, no better time for disrupting the freedom of speech model.
