Founder & CEO Eamon McDonald traveled throughout Spain, searching for the perfect varietals and the perfect winery to produce his sangria vision. He found the region of Castilla La Mancha , Spain is the best region, producing the most popular Spanish varietals for making Authentic Sangria. Once there, he toured multiple wineries, looking for the one that could produce precisely what he was looking for in Sangria with a quality, taste and ABV that could not be matched. He found it, in a small, 4th generation winery in operation since 1876.Joya is not like any sangria on the world market. Both red and white are 12% ABV, 100 % designed to be poured on ICE, served and enjoyed. You will notice when you take your first sip of Joya Red, you can taste the varietals in the Red, Tempranillo, Garnacha, and Bobal. Fruit forward, with only75 grams of sugar per liter not too sweet and we have added natural fruit essence. The white is also Fruit Forward, you will notice when you take your first sip you can taste the Airen Varietals. It is only 55 Grams of sugar and also has natural fruit essence.
