TolstoguzovJSC "RAO Energy System of East" (JSC "RAO ESE") was founded July 1, 2008 as a result of reorganization of JSC "RAO UES of Russia".JSC "RAO ESE" and its subsidiaries and associates form the joint holding, operating in all regions of the Far East Federal District and follows the majority of the rights and obligations of JSC "RAO UES of Russia" in relation to the electric-power industry of the Far East.The main activity of JSC "RAO Energy System of East" is to manage in efficient and quality manner the generating companies in order to meet the requirements for electricity and thermal energy of the Far East Federal District and its cross-border regions.The area of the Far Eastern Federal District is an area of responsibility of JSC "RAO ESE" and occupies 36% of Russian territory, which includes 9 regions: the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), Kamchatka, Primorsk and Khabarovsk Territories, Amur, Magadan and Sakhalin regions, Jewish Autonomous Region and Chukotka Autonomous Region.This region has the significant potential of growth of the electricity consumption due to development of deposits of nonferrous metals, oil and gas, creation of the integrated transport system and expansion of the range of tourist services.The development of the district and its infrastructure is a priority of the national scale, which is implemented by supporting the Far Eastern regions from the state budget.The total amount of electricity produced by enterprises of the holding in 2010 consisted 27.563 billion kW • h, heat energy - 30.210 million Gcal.
