Juara Turtle Project Details
Sea Turtle conservation, research, awareness and education on Tioman Island, Malaysia. We aim to protect sea turtles and their necessary habitats such as coral reefs and nesting beaches on Tioman Island. Nests are collected and protected in our hatchery until the hatchlings are ready to be released. We continue to work with the local community and try to highlight the importance of concerning environmental issues, while also accomodating their desire for economic growth. We also work with the local and international schools through involvement and educational programs. Sharing knowledge with the younger generation, in hopes they will take an active role in ensuring these important species are around in the future.
