Since 1990 Julia has been designing award winning chef-owned restaurants, kitchen & homes that are the exemplars of their region. Her approach is to create permanence, timelessness and joy. The results are projects that speak vividly, deliver sustainably, and create wealth for their owners. I have a passion for food and farms and believe they have intrinsic value and are essential to our existence. This passion is expressed through designing for chef owned restaurants. Through the opera of a well-made place, chefs are able to create their highest art and be the economic engine that supports the land. My designs are menu-driven. The food is the lyric that informs the physical place, from pen and paper to permanence. This approach achieves a rooted timelessness that is immediate, visceral, and ephemeral.
