Health, Wellness & Fitness - Peterborough, Ontario, Canada
The "Toronto Jump Rope Academy" was founded by Heidi Collins in the spring of 2012 in Toronto, Ontario. Heidi competed in the sport of competitive Jump Rope across the world for over 20 years as a member of the "Essex Energizers" and "Jumpsations" skipping teams. After hearing stories and seeing media reports on the increase of childhood illnesses and decline in activity levels, Heidi identified a growing need for kids jump rope programs across the city. "Toronto Jump Rope Academy" launched in school workshops, after school programs, and private lessons in over 30 schools immediately. In 2014 Heidi moved to Peterborough, ON and founded "Jump Rope Kawartha". Jump Rope Kawartha expanded to welcome Breagha Lapierre in 2017 to our coaching staff - a world competitive skipper native to Nova Scotia who is currently studying at Trent University. Heidi and Breagha continue to offer school workshops, adult classes, after school programming and private lessons across the Kawartha region and the GTA. We have taught in over 50 schools across the region and continue to grow our programming with a strong community focus. Our goal is to infuse our students with new skills they can continue to practice and build upon during their own time, as well as teach staff the foundations of how to run successful jump rope programming in their school or club. For further inquiries about our currently programming please send us a message!
