June Blount is a professional duo performing authentic Texas fiddling for events. The duo plays fiddle styles including Celtic, Bluegrass, Old-Time as well as classical music and contemporary hits. Founded by a fiddle champion and classical violinist with a combined 30+ years experience performing private and public events, June Blount also delivers interactive educational programs about the history of fiddling. The duo performed at SMU's TEDx Illuminate event (kids and evening events) at the Bomb Factory in November 2016. The presentation is available on YouTube: Fiddling, An Evolving Musical Language. "June Blount" is a combination of the founders' maiden middle names; fiddling is traditionally passed down through families; our fiddle family was formed to share these styles with a broader audience.
