At Junge Tüftler children and adolescents learn how to use software and hardware in order to realize their own projects. In doing so, methods from Design Thinking and Agile project work are used, which are playfully and pedagogically integrated into the context. - We build VR worlds (in CoSpaces) and smartphone apps (with App Inventor). - We program robots (with Ozobots, Lego Mindstorms and mBots) and microcontrollers (with Calliope Mini, Arduino, Raspberry Pi). - We tinker with 3D printing and laser cutter. We do this in the form of school events and regular courses and project days as well as extracurricular project days, holiday camps, inspirational workshops or make-a-thons, each with a different depth, theme focus and time frame. These include, for example, workshops in which children and adolescents work for a whole week on topics such as sustainability and the environment and build prototypes for solutions for their everyday lives. In concrete terms, this can be irrigation systems for the plants in the neighborhood or small robots that ensure improved waste sorting.
