Junior Achievement Mascareignes is dedicated to work for the youths so as to provide them with tools which will help them face the obstacles and challenges that they will encounter in the workplace, sensitize them to better understand their social and economic environment and to develop their entrepreneurship skills. Its three pillars are: Entrepreneurship, Financial Literacy and Work Readiness. To achieve its objectives JA Mascareignes has developed a strong partnership with both the private and public sectors and with other NGOs who work for the welfare and advancement of youth and who share our values and vision. JA Mascareignes benefits from the official authorization from the Ministry of Education and Human Resources to access the schools of the Republic, through a Memorandum of Understanding signed on the 20th August 2014.The programs are implemented by teachers and where possible with the assistance of a volunteer coming from our sponsors' staff. Both teacher and volunteer go through an in-house training delivered by JA Mascareignes' staffs. They are then provided with a guide for volunteers and teachers. Materials that are used by teachers, volunteers and students are provided totally free. At the end, of the programs, the students having 80% attendance are awarded a certificate of achievement.These programs have been localized and adapted to so that they reflect the Mauritian culture and environment. Our programs are complementary with the school curriculum and offer hands-on experience to the beneficiaries.
