Junior Baby Hatter specializes in handcrafting Tiny Caps for Tiny Chaps, providing you with the perfect accessory that adds a fun and polished look to your little gentleman's wardrobe. Our vintage-inspired caps, available in sizes newborn up to Adult XL, make it easy for everyone in your family to look more put together (even if your teething toddler kept you up all night). Founded by a maker and mom, Markisha Velazquez, sustainable production and consumption is our DNA. This means we like to source and produce locally to reduce our carbon footprint and to ensure that your caps are heirloom quality so you can keep them in the family for generations. JBH caps are produced in small quantities from upcycled cottons and "dead stock" wool fabrics, and we are a proud partner of the non-profit Fabscrap. Our design studio is in West New York, NJ and our production is run by a family in Gowanus, Brooklyn.When her son, Adam, was six months old, Markisha Velazquez transitioned from working full-time in the Garment District in New York City to stay-at-home mom in Weehawken, NJ. As a "boymom," Markisha wanted to have just as much fun dressing up her son as her friends did with their daughters, but soon discovered an inequality for neat and stylish accessories for baby boys compared to baby girls.So she went home, combined her vision for the perfect accessory for a little gentlemen with her design expertise honed during her study at the Fashion Institute of Technology… And… Voila! Junior Baby Hatter, "Tiny Caps for Tiny Chaps" was born!Since it's launch in 2014, Junior Baby Hatter caps have appeared on: Humans of New York "Today in Microfashion", "Baby Must-Haves" on Mornings on FOX 58, and TimeOut New York.
