The Justice Leadership Group brings together nine justice leaders from all regions of the world, who have first-hand experience with leading impressive justice change at the highest political level in their country or elsewhere. The members of the Group make themselves available as a resource to those who are now in leadership positions and who are faced with the challenge of safeguarding the rule of law and leading justice change. Successfully building rule of law requires capable leaders, who can navigate through a complexity of external stakeholders, build bridges, inspire and empower others, and take tough decisions while faring on a strong moral compass. Leadership is built, taught and nurtured in the world of business and politics, as it is seen to be an essential component for effective strategy making and execution. In the justice sector, however, the concept is invisible. That must change. That is why the Justice Leadership Group came together. The members of the Group: - Support and empower justice leaders in office, at their request, who face challenges in building rule of law - Connect justice leaders globally, through a Global Justice Leadership Network - Share Leadership Stories about effective justice leadership and its challenges to inspire others Members of the Justice Leadership Group: - Mr Salaheddin Al-Bashir (former Minister of Justice, Jordan) - Mr Ernst Hirsch Ballin (former Minister of Justice, Netherlands) - Ms Kalthoum Kannou (Vice President Cour de Cassation, Tunisia) - Mr Tharcisse Karugarama (former Minister of Justice, Rwanda) - Ms Athaliah Molokomme (Attorney General, Botswana) - Mr Willy Mutunga (Former Chief Justice, Kenya) - Ms Claudia Paz y Paz (former Attorney General, Guatemala) - Mr Diego García-Sayán (former Minister of Justice-Peru, Former President and Judge IAHCR) - Mr Sang-Hyun Song (former President ICC, Republic of Korea) www.justiceleaders.org
