Our story begins with the 1947 opening of the first Vallerga's Market grocery store on First Street, near Silverado Trail, long before Napa Valley grew into the internationally acclaimed wine region that it is today. When local demand increased for quality wines, Vallerga's met it by opening "Val's," a chain of corner wine and spirits stores. All the stores were supplied from cases stacked in a local Napa warehouse.Trying something new, Vallerga's then opened the warehouse to the public, letting customers peruse and purchase wines and spirits from the stacked cases of merchandise. The concept was an instant hit, and JV Beverage Warehouse, now JV Wine & Spirits, was born.JV Wine & Spirits is open seven days a week and can be reached at 707.253.2624. There is plenty of parking.
