A 501(c)3 non-profit performing arts and arts learning organization, Kairos Alive! Choreography of Care™ transforms lives through dance and story, and raises awareness of the importance of creative involvement across the lifespan for verifiable health benefits. We use the power of participatory, creative dance theater to make connections, stir the imagination, and create resilience in intergenerational communities. We are part of the emerging national fields of creative arts & aging and arts & health, working alongside professionals in the arts, health care, social services and community development to raise awareness of the importance of creative involvement across the lifespan. Our programs are recognized as a pioneering model of elder/community involvement programs by the National Center for Creative Aging and the National Endowment for the Arts. They received national awards from the American Public Health Association and others, and were featured in the 2012 PBS documentary "Arts and the Mind."Our research- and evidence-based Choreography of Care™ programs promote personal and community wellbeing among all ages, abilities and cultural backgrounds. We seek to promote the joy of interactive, participatory dance, music and story theater and use its power to nurture, heal and build community.
