At Kaiteki fresh® we produce hydroponically farmed leafy green vegetables at our state of the art hydroponic farm located in Bunyip 85kms south east of Melbourne. Our ecoLEAF™ produce is distributed in Melbourne to specialist retailers and restaurants, and sold at selected farmer's markets with reliable, year-round, local supply of produce grown under the highest standards of food safety and environmental sustainability. Our production system has been developed commercially in Japan by Mitsubishi Plastics Agri Dream, another sister company of Verbatim and Kaiteki fresh, and has been further refined for large scale production in Australia. In Australia, Kaiteki fresh® partners with Verbatim. Kaiteki fresh® and Verbatim are sister companies and wholly owned subsidiaries of Mitsubishi Chemical Holdings Corporation (MCHC). ecoLEAF™ pesticide-free produce is grown using ecologically sustainable methods in sophisticated, climate-controlled greenhouses. THE KAITEKI PHILOSOPHY Traditionally meaning "comfort" or "ease" in Japanese, "KAITEKI" is our motto to represent global quality of life that will be made possible through sustainable technologies. The Kaiteki Philosophy is an original concept of the Mitsubishi Chemical Holdings Corporation (MCHC) Group. It refers to "a sustainable condition which is comfortable for people, society and the earth, transcending time and generations." All of MCHC Group's corporate activities centre around the Kaiteki philosophy, which ensures that all of those activities contribute towards resolving environmental and social issues in various fields including lifestyle, information and electronics, health and medical care, environment and energy. This is the corporate ideal that the MCHC Group seeks to realise. Sustainability and respect for the environment are key elements of the Kaiteki concept: ecoLEAF™ produce is the perfect embodiment of this philosophy.
