A kaleidoscope represents turning something broken, into something beautiful and extraordinary. Many addicts feel hopeless and broken, unable to see the way out. With proper treatment and support, addicts have a chance to turn the broken pieces of their life into something whole again. Part of our mission is to assist addicts with the financial burden of treatment, lifting them up to the light and transforming these broken pieces into a beautiful life - much like a kaleidoscope. Many addicts will never seek treatment for substance abuse, due to the belief that they do not have the proper health insurance or the financial ability to afford the cost of an inpatient treatment facility. Kaleidahope's mission is to assist with this very issue.More than 21 million people in the United States have a substance use disorder. Only 11% of these individuals received specialty substance abuse treatment. Of those with a substance abuse disorder, more than 32% do not seek treatment due to financial concerns. The other side of Kaleidahope's mission is changing perceptions of what it means to be an addict. Addiction doesn't discriminate. It affects individuals of all ages, races and socioeconomic classes. Most of us know someone who battled addiction, or someone who is currently struggling. As a community, we need to understand that addiction could be a part of anyone's journey, whether or not we saw it happening before our eyes. Even if we didn't see any warning signs, someone could still be struggling behind closed doors. By being proactive, and getting help for ourselves or those around us before everything is lost, we will be much more successful in helping them get the treatment they need and helping them to see that a bright future is possible.
