Kalo Companies was founded in 2009 by its owners, Angelo and Kimberly Crowell. Since opening theirfirst location in 2010, Team Kalo has grown its ownership of Jersey Mike's Subs restaurant franchisesto 40 stores located across Florida, Georgia and Alabama, with up to 21 more stores under currentdevelopment or under an acquisition agreement and expected to finalize in 2022. Its goal is to reach 100+ units. Angelo and Kimberly were awarded 2016 Economic Development Champions of the Year for their entrepreneurial impact on the Tallahassee economy and also recognized by Jersey Mike's asthe organization's Rookie Franchisees of the Year in 2011. Angelo was recently recognized as aMost Valuable Performer and received the Influencer Award for Former Pro-Athlete at the Multi-UnitFranchising Conference in Las Vegas. In 2018 they were recognized for their Regional OperationalExcellence at the Jersey Mike's Subs Franchise National Conference and also received the Big BendRegion's Small Business of the Year award as part National Small Business Week. Additionally, theywere elected by their fellow franchisees to serve on the National Advisory Council for Jersey Mike's andKimberly was recently appointed to the International Franchise Association Board of Directors. In additionto franchising, Angelo and Kimberly work together on a variety of other projects, including servingtogether as managing partners of a private equity firm that targets real estate and hospitality ventures.Team Kalo, which employs over 425 people, owns and operates each of its locations andthrough its management company, Kalo Restaurant Group, LLC (KRG), provides the management,operational and administrative support for all of its locations.Team Kalo is building on its past success and expanding its ownership footprint throughout thesoutheast.
