The Kandra Power Company (KPC), a privately owned company and part of the Shahzad International Group of Companies, plans to set up a power plant, based on processed Low BTU gas from the Kandra Gas Field, operated by PEL. The gas supply arrangement, as already approved by the Government, envisages supply of 40 MMSCFD of 300 BTU/SCF processed Kandra gas by PEL which will be commingled with 10 MMSCFD pipeline quality gas from Sui Southern Gas Company's nearby system and the resultant 50 MMSCFD gas with a heating value of 430 + 5 BTU/SCF will be the fuel for 120 MW Kandra Power Plant.
