KANE is a Youth organization, based in the city of Kalamata, Greece. Since its establishment in 2008, KANE participates in,implements and promotes activities on local,regional and international level (such as trainings,seminars, meetings,youth exchanges,social,cultural and educational projects,etc.), in line with the values of UNESCO's Education for Sustainable Development,focusing mainly on Cultural Education,Gender Equality and Sustainable Urbanization.These projects are open to all young people, mostly aged between 16 and 30. We focus more on local youngsters, trying to support their personal development through training, non-formal education and intercultural activities.The organisation has already created 2 youth structures; the Youth Centre of Kalamata and the Kalamata Street Festival;The Youth Centre of Kalamata is a voluntary youth structure based on the collective effort of the people. It has 2000 members and it offers without any charge 50 educational workshops (languages, arts, music, dance, theatre etc...) per week for all the "school year". [ www.kentroneon.wordpress.com ]The Kalamata's Street Festival is also a voluntary structure being organized by K.A.NE. with the cooperation of the active organizations of the city of Kalamata.
