Kaniere is a ‘country/community style' school with a long 125 year history of providing quality educational provision for the students yr 1-6 in the Kaniere and surrounding areas. It is situated approximately 4 kilometres east of Hokitika.The extensive grounds are a special feature and the school is well resourced, in particular, with digital devices and e-learning equipment. Teachers focus on the ‘Learn, Create Share' pedagogy as part of the Toki Pounamu Outreach Plus Project.The school has a strong community connection and works collaboratively with others.
