Kansas Free for Arts (KFA) is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to enrich the lives of Kansans through advocacy for wellness, education and stimulating arts culture. KFA utilizes two major program areas to accomplish this mission. The first program area is KFA Studio; a free and open community arts studio located at 7 east 7th Avenue in downtown Emporia, KS. At KFA Studio, artists of all disciplines and skill levels may utilize the facility and all of its materials as needed, which may include: painting, sculpting, screen-printing, crafting, making music, reading comics or just hanging out. The other major program area offered by KFA are community outreach programs. KFA generally partners with other local organizations to produce outreach programs, be it arts or music workshops and demonstrations or free and all-ages concerts at various venues throughout the community. It is the hope of KFA to inspire a culture of collaboration through participation in the arts. KFA aims to influence Kansans young and old to re-invest themselves back into the regional culture and to introduce potential future Kansans to all of the great things the state has to offer.
