Karmik has been around since 2014, offering pragmatic harm reduction services to over 5 festivals and 75 nightlife events across British Columbia. Based in Vancouver, we also advocate for evidence-based drug policy and community engagement through research, training programs, and public education. How we operate: We do not condemn or condone substance use. We support, not punish. In acknowledging the fact that aspects of party culture are inherently hazardous, we encourage safer practices while emphasizing peer support and nonjudgement. We also strive to provide open and honest education about issues such as drug safety and sexual health in a way that is accessible, professional, and fun. While doing outreach work, we provide event attendees with resources such as earplugs, condoms and lube, as well as straws to prevent the spread of HIV and Hep C from insufflated drug use. At larger events, we provide further services such as sanctuary spaces and drug testing tents. These services are made possible by our team of dedicated staff and trained volunteers.
