I have combined lifetime experience in teaching, both at the public school and undergraduate levels with the skill and knowledge base of professional psychology. For over 13 years I have practiced psychotherapy as a Marriage & Family trained therapist. My specific skill set has included work with adolescents as well as elders, and has centered mostly on work around relationship issues. I have also been a speaker at numerous health-related groups in Colorado Springs, including the Multiple Sclerosis Society, the Parkinson Association, the Dystonia Foundation, and have been a facilitator for the Well-Spouse Foundation's local chapter, and the Brain Injury Association. In that capacity I have also been a psychotherapy provider for the State of Colorado's Home and Community Based Services for traumatic brain injury. In that capacity I have trained Goodwill's community caregivers in the psychosocial aspects of caring to these patients and their families.Professional interests also include work with mature marriages. I have been a Past President of the Colorado Springs Bereavement Association, and have volunteered with a local hospice. I provided nursing home counseling as a contract therapist with Senior Counseling Group. This combination of teaching and therapy has been present in teaching various Psychology courses at Regis University, where I am adjunct faculty and shows itself in my office as I teach clients how to better communicate. I strive always been to improve relationships by teaching people to say what they mean and get what they want. These skill sets are offered to individuals, couples, and small businesses.I have been recognized as a Certified Relationship Specialist with the American Psychotherapy Association, amd am a clinical member of the American Association for Marriage & Family Therapy.
