Writing & Editing - , ,
I used to write my own newspaper as a child, photographing my friends with my Polaroid and writing funny stories about them. I went on to creative writing classes in high school and becoming editor-in-chief of my high school yearbook. In college, I was managing editor of the college newspaper, majored in Communications/Journalism, but left to enter the college of Life before receiving a degree. While raising and sometimes homeschooling two sons, I returned to college and got my Bachelors Degree at the age of 35. After the boys entered high school, I began my life as a volunteer, writing our local food coop's newsletter, founding a community center, and reviving our town's farmers market. Through all this, I continued writing - newsletters, promotional ads and articles, grant applications, short stories for regional journals. In the past five years I've written hundreds of pages of content for my own websites and those of my clients, on subjects from affiliate marketing, to knitting, chocolate, natural pregnancy and childbirth, healthy lifestyles, tea tree oil, classical music, yoga, massage, website templates, mothering, meditation, and stair parts. Freelance writing can be tedious and boring at times, but I've learned I can take on any challenge, any subject, and master it.
