We provide certified life-coaching services to human service agencies, therapy groups, and individuals through topics such as mindful self-awareness and evidence-based mindful emotion regulation. All of our work is based on mindfulness, which allows us to live fully in the present. Mindfulness is the awareness of what is happening right now, without wishing it were different. It is doing one thing at a time, in the moment, with complete attention and acceptance. Mindfulness allows us to choose the direction of our mind. We tend to fight what causes us pain. We may feel that we have no control over our behaviors, but in fact, the opposite is true. When we participate in life without full awareness, we miss some of life's joy. When we are engaged in one thing at a time, fully focused, life becomes less overwhelming. Mindful Emotion Regulation (MER) is the understanding that while we cannot change the daily realities of life, we absolutely can manage how we respond to them.
