Katuaq is a cultural venue for the whole of Greenland. It was opened on the 15th of February 1997 and is based in Nuuk. Katuaq is a magical venue whose architecture was inspired by waving northern lights, icebergs and the play of light on ice and snow. The building was designed by architects Schmidt, Hammer & Lassen of Århus Denmark.Katuaq - Greenland Cultural Centre core activities are Music Concerts, Theatre Plays and Art Exhibitions. Adding to this Katuaq offers a unique opportunity to combine meetings with experiences in the midst of a modern Arctic community. It is located in the centre of the town, near shops, supermarkets and accommodation options. Katuaq has a 3D cinema and a very popular lunch café.
