Kays Chippy started out as a Popcorn Stand in 1999. It was a "student business". Owned by a student, and designed to serve the student community of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. The "strategy" was simple: set up a popcorn stand in front of the Student Union Building and sell fresh popcorn to students.Sales took off, and we had to extend our product line, we started serving fresh hot donuts and cold drinks to students. Ice cream soon joined the constellation, and an accidental downtime led us to start serving fried chicken and chips. The "student business" grew to require a team of six, and needed someone to run it. That was the beginning of our journey into the world of Fast Food.Kays Chippy "re-opened" in 2007. Today, we happily serve students from two outlets on the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife Campus.
