KCGameOn began in 2006 when a bunch of coworkers decided to get together to play games on the weekend. Every type of game was represented, right from the beginning - PC, console, board games, card games, and anything else someone decided to play. Over the next decade, across more than 100 in-person events, KCGameOn grew from 10 people, to 100 people, then on to an average of 300 at each event! The growth of esports around the world changed the scene, and KCGameOn, forever.In 2017, KCGameOn took a major leap forward and planned our first annual 3-day gaming conference, featuring a full list of esports tournaments, a 500+ person LAN party, and vendor booths featuring all sorts of gaming, geek, and nerd culture. Our most recent multi-day event was called NEXTECHKC, which was a collaboration with several other local esports organizations in KC focusing on gaming and technology. The event was a resounding success, hosting over 3,000 attendees and players at the iconic HyVee Arena (formerly Kemper Arena).During 2021, KCGameOn adapted to the state of the world by focusing on online events with a smaller physical footprint. We ran the KC Corporate Esports Cup with the playoffs at LevelUp Arena. In partnership with the Kansas City Royals we hosted an MLB the Show 21 tournament and the final four got to play their matches in Kauffman Stadium and be featured on Crown Vision, one of the biggest HD screens in the world!As esports continues to expand into the mainstream, KCGameOn will continue to grow with it. We are focused on becoming the premier esports event in the Midwest!
