Kelly Davidson graduated from BU's College of Communication in 1999 with a BS in Photojournalism. She worked at the Boston Phoenix for 6 years as a Senior Designer in the editorial department, shooting on the side and working closely with many local photographers.In 2005 Kelly became a full-time freelance photographer and designer, Her assignments have brought her all over the country, from Maui to Lake Tahoe, and all over the world, from Mexico to Portugal, shooting everything from Yoga retreats to music festivals to advertising campaigns.Winner of 3 New England Press Association (NEPA) awards, and a long-standing member of both the National Press Association (NPPA) and the Boston Press Association (BPPA), Kelly consistently demonstrates a commitment to excellence in the field of photojournalism. From corporate portraits for Digitas, to shooting behind the scenes at Boston Ballet's The Nutcracker for the Weekly Dig, Kelly is a versatile photographer with a strong drive and charismatic approach to every assignment.Her on-going personal portrait project entitled "ROCK PARENTS" features local musicians with their kids, including Kay Hanley from Letters to Cleo, Dana Colley of Morphine, David Minehan of Woolly Mammoth Studios and the band The Neighborhoods, Roger Miller from Mission Burma, and others. Someday it will be a book.
