Kelly-Hanson Companies, LLC is a family of small businesses dedicated to making the sport of sailing more accessible to the average American family by offering premium sailing-related products and services at affordable prices.Kelly-Hanson Marine was created and opened by Art Kelly and his wife Wendy (maiden name "Hanson") in early 2003. Mr. Kelly spent his childhood summers sailing with his family in Newport, RI. His family owned a MacGregor sailboat, which is now the largest volume producer of sailboats in the world. Retired and reminiscing, Art decided that he wanted give other families the opportunity to get out on the water and create their own memories. With that, Kelly-Hanson Marine was born and soon became the largest MacGregor dealership. It made perfect sense to expand the business and to begin offering gear, hardware and new sails for these boats. As popularity of the website grew, so did the reputation of the sails. It was a logical progression to expand the line of sails and thus Kelly-Hanson Sails was started. Kelly-Hanson Sails is now the largest manufacturer of premium replacement sails for the MacGregor line of sailboats, and specializes in sails for popular production boats.Sail Vision was created initially as a way to diversify and has become the largest single source of sailing related DVDs on the internet with nearly 250 titles.Colorado Sailing Center was opened in 2009 to serve a dual purpose distribution center and retail sailing store.
