Kelly's Fighting Chance was founded after the passing of Adam Kelly in July 2018. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend who fought a brave fight against cancer that was made possible through the support of blood and organ donors.Adam was a truly remarkable individual who loved his family more than anything. He always put others before himself; there wasn't a single thing Adam wouldn't do for his family and friends. Right up until the end of Adam's journey, he continued to smile, crack jokes, and lighten others' spirits.Throughout Adam's fight with cancer, he required countless blood & platelet transfusions, and even a bone marrow transplant. While Adam's battle didn't end as his family had hoped, it was the generosity of others that gave him a fighting chance. Without the donations of others, not only would Adam's chances have gone to zero, but his family wouldn't have had the chance to say their goodbyes, he wouldn't have had the chance to watch his sons play golf on Father's Day, he would have missed his eldest son's university graduation, and he would've missed numerous other milestones for his friends and family. Even in the worst-case scenario, donations (e.g. blood) allow people in situations similar to Adam's to spend more time with their family - in other cases, this generosity allows individuals to conquer cancer! The prospect of directly influencing the lives of individuals in similar, unfortunate situations, is what ultimately inspired the creation of Kelly's Fighting Chance Foundation. From promoting blood donation to organizing an annual charity golf tournament benefiting Princess Margaret, we strive to improve the lives of individuals and their families, when misfortune strikes.
