The Winner of European Museum of the Year Award, Silletto Prize 2021Kenan Yavuz Ethnography Museum is a non-profit institution founded by Kenan Yavuz as a social-responsibility project in Bespinar village where he was born and raised. The museum aims to represent the beauties of Anatolia along with the cultural values and ways of living of the past. Our museum both with its collection as well as its surroundings is an ethnographic facility. The resources used to construct the buildings are provided through the demolished & abandoned remains throughout the region. Visitors are not only able to enjoy a beautiful collection but also to participate in social activities that revive traditional events.Our goal is to create awareness on the harm of immigration from the rural to cities, highlight carpent urbanization, and to spread a culture of solidarity and collaboration.Our efforts and projects have been recognized internationally by European Museum Forum who awarded our museum with the Silletto Prize at EMYA 2021.
