The King Hussein Cancer Center is an independent, non-governmental, not-for-profit institution founded in 2001 by Royal Decree to combat cancer in Jordan and the Middle East region. The Foundation is governed by a Board of Trustees comprised of a dedicated group of prominent volunteers chaired by HRH Princess Ghida Talal. KHCC is led by Dr. Asem Mansour- CEO/Director General.The department of pharmacy plays an integral part in accomplishing the mission of the King Hussein Cancer Center of providing comprehensive cancer treatment and of becoming a leading center for cancer treatment, research, and education.The Department of Pharmacy mission focuses on providing comprehensive and cost-effective pharmaceutical care services to all patients treated at KHCC and to serve as a model for true pharmaceutical care in Jordan. Pharmaceutical care is defined as the provision of pharmacotherapy to individual patients to insure desired outcomes; this includes the acceptance of responsibility for all aspects of drug use. In this process, a pharmacist collaborates with the patient, physician, and other health care providers in designing, implementing, providing, and monitoring a therapeutic regimen.
