VISIONWe envision a world where the cycle of poverty is replaced by a cycle of progress.WHO WE AREKhusi…what? Khusi Hona (Koo-shee Hō-na) means "feel happy" in Hindi. In 2012, we were founded with a mission of improving the lives of orphans in India. In a country where there are more than 11 million orphaned and abandoned children, we wanted to do something to make a difference in the lives of as many children as we could reach. We started out small, providing food to one orphanage, school tuition funding to another, computers and games to a third. After just two years, we developed a network of nearly 60 orphanages and abandoned children outreach centers across India and Nepal. Our work with vulnerable children forced us to come face to face with some of the world's greatest injustices: hunger, malnutrition, gender-based violence, sex and labor trafficking, and many other forms of exploitation and human rights violations. We then decided to expand our work to include programs that would address the sources of these injustices: seemingly inescapable poverty, inequality, and a lack of viable education and vocational opportunities.
