The Kiawah Conservancy is a grassroots organization established by Island residents in 1997 to preserve the excellent natural habitat of Kiawah Island. Plant and animal life thrive only in a balanced ecosystem, and Kiawah Island is a rare jewel where residents, visitors and wildlife successfully coexist. Frequent wildlife encounters are one of the most appealing pleasures of life on Kiawah. The Conservancy is committed to maintaining this balance through identification, preservation, and management of the critical habitats needed to maintain a healthy, balanced, and diverse population of native flora and fauna in Kiawah Island, South Carolina.
