KiCo helps children with esophageal burns via trained local surgeons.KiCo informs the West-African population about the dangers of "caustic soda". This product is used for the preparation of bauxite ( material that is exploited in the mines of Guinea) to aluminium. The caustic soda however is at sale on the local market and is applied in paint factories and to make artisan soap. The sale of that artisan soap is mostly the only source of income for the housemothers. Unfortunately by accident children swallow this product what leads to terribly mouth and gullet combustion.First care after mistakenly swallowing of caustic soda.KiCo helps these children by bringing medical material. The paediatric surgeon of the South places a external gastric probe and a "endless rope" so that the child can be fed. A later dilatation of the gutter makes it possible that in most of the cases that the child can drink and eat normally.
