Dr. Sara Davison founded the Supportive Care Kidney Research Group (KSCRG) with the vision of helping people enjoy life while living with advanced chronic kidney disease through excellence in kidney supportive care research and clinical innovation.Her research and clinical innovation is at the forefront of kidney supportive care internationally and she is recognized as a world leader in the area. She has led the development, implementation, and evaluation of several clinical initiatives in the Northern Alberta Renal Program (NARP). These initiatives include routinely integrated supportive care assessments, prognostication and identification of high risk patients, intensive advanced care planning skills training, and a Conservative Kidney Management (CKM) clinical pathway.Dr. Davison's program of research focuses on the delivery of quality supportive care for patients with kidney failure and her research interests include symptom management, advance care planning, conservative kidney management, prognostication, clinical pathways, and clinical decision aids.
