It was originally named after the former mayor of Vancouver, John P. Kiggins and opened in 1936. Today, the Kiggins Theatre is remodeled to capture the art deco architecture while also creating a luxurious movie seeing experience. It caters to the Vancouver community by hosting many events from the local schools, nonprofit organizations, and anyone else who likes to utilize the beautiful historical building. Oh, and of course they show a large variety of films. It is a movie theatre after all. A movie theatre that also serves beer and wine and has the best popcorn in town.
