The Kimekai dynamic fist symbol signifies progress and evolution, never resting and always striving for improvement. The Japanese characters meaning "learning the correct way" were designed to represent the Japanese origin of Karate and to indicate commitment to this country and the Kimekai Karate Dojo. Kimekai opened in 1989 as a branch of the Australian Shukokai Karate Association. The Kimekai philosophy is deeply rooted in traditional karate, but its effectiveness is derived from an open mind approach which utilises concepts from other arts such as Kickboxing and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Hence, Kimekai is a dynamic martial art marrying traditional elements of respect and discipline with modern combat techniques.Under the direction of Sensei Marco Mazzanti Kimekai has grown to 3 full time schools with a total membership of over 700 active students since he became a full time instructor in 1995. Today, Kimekai has produced both junior and senior champions as well as setting a high standard of martial arts instruction.
