A visayan word, meanimg turning point. KsFI. was conceived, to assist persons and communities to make a positive turn for their lives. KsFI was established in August 2001 and converted to a Foundation in December 18, 2002. It envisions an empowered communities living in a culture of peace, wellness and development by promoting a culture of inner peace and wellness in an environmentally-friendly community among the disadvantaged sectors of society like women, children and the elderly. KsFI started to work with street children as a halfway home for street children in partnership with City Social Services Development Office (CSSDO) of the City government of Davao City and a resource group for skills training of street children. KsFI as an advocate of environment also became an organizer of self esteem workshop for Junior Ecological Movement (JEM). In 2004, KsFI expands its services to health and governance by implementing several projects funded by USAID, PNGOC and Consuelo Foundation Inc. in selected areas of regions XI and XII.KsFI is a grantee and implementer of the PRISM - USAID project on the establishment of Birthing Homes (25) for Davao City and General Santos City and Development of Referral Network System for Maternal and Child Health in Davao City From 2008-2009. KsFI became a partner organization of HPDP- UPEcon in the local implementation of the Family Health Book Project in Compostela Valley. Currently KsFI in partnership with Consuelo Foundation, implements "Healthy Start Project in Davao City in collaboration with the City/District Health Office, private physicians and Well Family Midwife Clinic in Agdao, Davao City. It also continues to supervise Davao cluster of Well Family Midwife Clinics, a JSI USAID supported project (WFMC).
