تم انشاء معهد الملك عبد الله للبحوث والدراسات الاستشارية ليكون بيت خبرة وطني متميز ذو سمعة عالمية يقدم استشارات عالية الجودة ويعالج قضايا التنمية ويساهم في رقي المجتمع وازدهاره ونقل المعرفة وتوطينها، وذلك من خلال تسخير إمكانيات وموارد جامعة الملك سعود البشرية والمادية والمعرفية والاستفادة من الإمكانيات المماثلة خارج الجامعة لتحقيق مجتمع المعرفة.ويقدم المعهد خدماته في مجالات الاستشارات على أساس عقود مدفوعة الثمن، ويدير نشاطاته المتعددة بمرونة عالية تتوافق مع احتياجات ومتطلبات المؤسسات والهيئات العاملة في القطاعين العام والخاص ومؤسسات المجتمع المدني، وبشكل يعكس قدرة الجامعة على التفاعل مع احتياجات المجتمع المتعددة والمتجددة والعمل على تحقيقها من خلال الإمكانات العلمية الكبيرة التي تملكها الجامعة.King Abdullah Institute for Research & Consulting Studies (KAI) at King Saud University (KSU) is the legal representative of all KSU units to provide paid consultation services. KAI clearly reflects the capability of KSU to interact with the diverse and changing requirements of the society and works towards achieving the required solutions through utilizing the variety of recourses owned by KSU.KAI was established by the approval of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the president of the Higher Education Council with respect to the fifth meeting of the Higher Education Council dated on 14/10/1996 using telex No. 7/B/16785. This allows KAI to carry out paid studies and consultation services to public, private and non-profit organizations.
