Beer is the 3rd most popular drink in the world ― after water and tea ― and one of the oldest alcoholic drinks on planet Earth! At Beerconomy we cover beer and its rich history and amazing stories. We review beers and people's lifestyles, taprooms and brewpubs, breweries and microbreweries, beer festivals, beer-themed events, or anywhere people enjoy the finest beer, great food, greater company, and the best in local entertainment. We dig into brewers and methods, distribution, wholesaling, retailers, the challenges of all, and more. That's what drives the overall beer economy.Or as we say: the "Beerconomy".Our fearless leader ― Steve King ― was lucky enough to grow up in the Over-the-Rhine district, just off the Cincinnati stretch of the Miami Erie canal (now Central Parkway). By the mid-1800s, Over-the-Rhine was home to loads of German immigrants and it's where the first German-owned brewery opened in 1829.Steve was exposed to pale ales, dark ales, pilsners, IPAs, porters, stouts, wheats, and more. A beer's style is based on its color, flavor, yeast, strength, ingredients, origin, or production method and there are over 100 distinct beer styles, a majority (more than 70) of which are Ales, more than 25 types of Lagers, and a few hybrid styles. We're hand-crafted beer junkies, reflected in our passion for the brewer's art and our strong commitment to beers that excite and delight our palettes; Beerconomy's ever-growing demand is reflected like a toast to loyal readers. Most of us know what we like and that's what matters. At Beerconomy there are no beer snobs; we're simply girls and guys who love a great quaff of their favorite brew and want to share their great journeys with you! We'd love to know about YOUR favorite beer, taproom or event, even a craft beer section at a local package store. We're on Twitter @TheBeerconomy — give us a shout-out!"The best beers are ones we drink with friends." ― Steve King• a Kings Crossing Brands subsidiary •
