The Kingston Land Trust is a member of the Land Trust Alliance (LTA), a national organization that works on behalf of land trusts to increase the pace and quality of land conservation by advocating favorable tax policies, training land trusts in best practices and working to ensure the permanence of conservation in the face of continuing threats.The Kingston Land Trust follows the LTA's Land Trust Standards and Practices, which provide comprehensive guidelines for the responsible operation of a land trust. The Kingston Land Trust also follows all Indicator Practices as defined by the Land Trust Accreditation Commission. These practices are designated by the Land Trust Alliance and indicate the land trust's ability to operate in an ethical, legal and technically sound manner and ensure the long-term protection of land in the public interest.
