We, Kinmatic Incorporated, have patented (pending) an untethered long lasting accurate solution to full body tracking. This device will include a series of wearable sensors for each joint of the human body and a control hub which will calculate poses. The proposed device tracks the physical movements and real time pose data of the human body without external observers or a specialized environment. These newfound freedoms enable exciting applications across many diverse industry sectors.This invention came about from issues that arose while using the current generation state of the art VR full body tracking. It not only removes issues which plague existing technology but also allows for new and exciting possibilities when applied in and beyond Virtual and Augmented reality. The device will leverage a series of magnetic sensors, accelerometers, gyroscopes, and algorithms to enable realtime high resolution tracking. These standard sensors and algorithms have not yet been applied together in such an application, however success in this space is highly valuable. A device which can digitize human motion and pose would support gaming, animation, sports, and ultimately rehabilitation and diagnosis. Reducing the cost and removing the requirement of a specialized environment addresses a larger market. This unproven and unprecedented technology will not only meet recognized needs, but will enable future data driven artificial intelligence to optimize, protect, heal, and immerse our users based on their own bodies and how they move in them.
