Founded in 2005, Kinomé is a social business aiming at improving human beings' daily lives thanks to forests and trees (food security, access to water, job creation, project innovation…), and thus reversing the trend of deforestation. Acting in 19 countries, Kinomé's network gathers multidisciplinary experts bolstering the human and economic development of vulnerable populations. To date more than 4 millions trees have been planted and 9 million protected, for the benefit of over 750 000 persons. Kinomé's head office is located on the campus of Paris Tropical Garden (together with a cluster of forest and development expert institutions). \\Nicolas Métro, Founder of Kinomé, is part of the Ethical Leadership network, and Ashoka Fellow, (Ashoka is the largest network of social entrepreneurs worldwide, with nearly 3,500 Fellows in 70 countries putting their system changing ideas into practice on a global scale).\\Kinomé developed a two-pronged methodology of local development 1) a territorial approach aiming at meeting vulnerable population needs (security, health, education, etc.), 2) a value chain approach promoting entrepreneurship and local economic development while protecting/restoring the environment.\\Kinomé' four core activities are applied research, consulting, project management and education.
