The overture of KiRu was back at university where Krithika and Ruchika met first. They decided to create a brand together because of their similar style sensibility and varied interest in design. KiRu expands to the words ‘Kindness is (a)'round us'.‘Our vision is to lead the movement of sustainable, homegrown, gender-fluid streetwear in the Indian market while simultaneously spreading our uncommon blend of culture and style internationally.' Our values include responsible sourcing, conscious packaging, ethical production, and the revival of Indian crafts. At KiRu we developed our own term for re-interpreting the Indian handloom sector and bridging the gap between trend and tradition - introducing Trendition.
