Kiteboarding Kingston was operated from 2007-2013 by Brian Taguchi, Ken McGlade and Brent Helmstaedt and served the Kingston kiteboarding community in providing Kingston-specific "competence/confidence balanced" instructional program approved by the Professional Air Sports Association, online and in-person equipment sales, safety information, riding maps, weather resources, and social events. Consistent positive feedback from customers translated to over $250,000 in online and direct sales within the first 3 years, earning recognition as a premier Ocean Rodeo dealer and kiting resource in Ontario. Since 2013, the Kiteboarding Kingston site remains a helpful first stop for new and resident kiters in Kingston, and is operated by the Kingston Kiteboarding Association. Most recently, members of the local kiting community and the Kingston Kiteboarding Association have played a key role in maintaining the launch site at the city's PUC dock and Breakwater Park as it undergoes redevelopment.
