On September 15, 1965, enthusiastic 27-year olds, Dave and Judy Marshall purchased Knapp the Florist from retiring business owners, Fred and Hazel Knapp. They moved from Rockport to West Newbury with their two young daughters, Kim and Sue. Both daughters grew up working in the greenhouses until each went away to college. After college, Kim returned to joined Knapp's full time in 1985. In 1995, Dave and Judy closed the florist shop and renamed the business Knapp's Greenhouses, as the busines transitioned into a focus on growing high-quality annuals, perennials, vegetable and herbs. Knapp's continues to expand and grow, offering a wide variety of unique garden plants and flowers.
