Hospital/Clinic - N/A, N/A, US
In 2001 and 2002 I became a doula and certified childbirth education instructor following intensive training with two nationally recognized childbirth organizations. To further my training, I added Child Passenger Safety Technician certification in 2003, and attended a Spinning Babies® seminar in 2006 to better understand how the baby's position in the womb affects labor. I bring the techniques I have learned to pregnant moms to improve their chances of an easier birth. In 2007 I became an American Red Cross certified First Aid/CPR/AED instructor. In 2008 I had the opportunity to join with several other women in my local area to form the non-profit group EmPoWeReD Birth. I encourage you to visit our website at www.facebook.com/empoweredbirth.paMy philosophy on childbirth is influenced by my faith in God, and trust in His design (see "Why Christian Childbirth Classes"). While I understand that humans are fallen creatures and thus sometimes problems will arise, I believe that the female body is designed to birth without interference in the majority of cases. I have been helping moms to enjoy healthier pregnancies and births through education and hands on support for over 9 years. I am a graduate of Lafayette College, and reside with my family in Allentown, PA.
