The Knowlton Gallery deals in contemporary representational art by many of the leading artists in California, specializing in landscape, plein air, figurative and impressionist works. The artist roster includes members of the Plein-Air Painters of America, Oil Painters of America, Laguna Plein Air Painters, American Impressionist Society, California Art Club, Pastel Society of America, National Watercolor Society, Salmagundi Club, and the New York Society of Illustrators, among others. The Knowlton Gallery is owned and operated by Robin Knowlton, who has lived in Lodi since 1989. She and her husband, Stefan Sekula, have collected art for many years. It was their friendship with the artists they collected that led Robin to open a gallery in the region. The Gallery is located in the heart of downtown Lodi, on the second floor of Woolworth's Place (handicapped accessible). In addition to the main exhibition gallery, there is an annex space for workshops and where additional works by the gallery's roster of artists are exhibited. Robin Knowlton is also involved in the selection, commissioning, and placement of art for private and corporate clients and can make arrangements for private portrait commissions.
