Karl J. Koch and Rusty Messer handle a wide variety of criminal and civil legal matters, representing individuals and companies in all types of civil cases. Our clients include persons injured in automobile or other accidents or by a defective product, general negligence, or environmental violations; we defend medical malpractice lawsuits for 14 nursing homes; we represent people under investigation, arrested, or formally charged with felony and misdemeanor charges in both state and federal court. Our primary business is trials and appeals -- Karl and Rusty have handled state and federal jury trials in criminal and civil cases, and appeals before both state and federal appellate courts; Karl has successfully argued a case before the United States Supreme Court. We represent professionals in proceedings before their state boards, including attorneys (Louisiana Attorney Disciplinary Board), doctors (Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners), registered nurses (Louisiana State Board of Nursing) and licensed practical nurses (Louisiana State Board of Practical Nurse Examiners) -- even social workers (Louisiana State Board of Social Work Examiners) and electrologists (Louisiana State Board of Electrolysis Examiners). Karl has extensive experience in disputes before the Louisiana Gaming Control Board.
